Having been a part of the q4 family for almost six years, Maddie has seen first-hand the long term benefits of the advice and services q4 provides to their clients. Working in several roles over the years, Maddie now works as a client manager, helping a range of clients tackle their everyday and longer-term business objectives. She recently shared some insights into how she came to work for q4 financial and the rewarding experience she finds from helping clients achieve their goals.
Maddie always knew she wanted to work in an industry that allowed her to work closely with clients. Unsure of a major Maddie fell into accounting, originally selecting it as an elective in her business degree at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
“As I got further into my degree, I realised that there were areas in accounting that would allow me to help people and really make a difference to their businesses and their lives,” Maddie said.
While browsing the QUT business hub page, Maddie noticed a post looking for an undergraduate for a bookkeeping role. She jumped at the opportunity to get some hands-on experience in the industry allowing her to explore if a major in accounting was the right decision.
“I still had 12 months left of my degree, so I wanted to enter the industry to see if I would love it – luckily I did!”
Over the years Maddie has had several roles at q4 financial, commencing in bookkeeping before working in a CSA role, and then as a graduate accountant.
“I would say that I still wear many hats, which I do love, all of which have helped to build on my experience and the way I assist my clients.”
Now working as a Client Manager, a role that taps into all her experience, Maddie works closely with Senior Client Manager Alethea to assist clients that require some additional advice outside of the traditional tax and bookkeeping requirements.
“I am a people person and also love a good chat, and having a lasting impact on someone’s financial outcomes is an amazing feeling.”
Seeing clients achieve their goals, be they big or small, is a rewarding experience for Maddie as she works to ensure they receive the trusted advice and accounting services that q4 financial is renowned for.
“There is no greater feeling than watching that trust translate into the steps and actions and eventually outcomes for our clients, which is so rewarding.”
When it comes to q4 financial as a workplace Maddie echoes the same sentiment several other team members share, that is the sense of family and care she finds in the company, for both employees and clients.
“q4 financial’s approach translates to the way we care for our clients which I believe is the best way that we can assist our clients – when you care about the people and not just the outcome you achieve so much more than what you could have ever planned for!”
