Kelly Hill is an experienced business owner, leader and mentor who considers helping her clients achieve financial freedom to be her professional purpose.
Among her clients are family-owned businesses, partnerships and professional service providers often in medical, health and well-being sectors and with turnovers in the range of $2m to $10m. They are growth focused and forward thinking, value planning and recognise that funding their retirement cannot solely rest upon the sale of their business.
Calm, focused, honest and with 20 years’ professional experience, Kelly partners with her clients to overcome the isolation that is commonly felt by those leading substantial family-owned enterprises.
Kelly holds her clients to account. She encourages them to extract wealth from their businesses to protect and provide for themselves. She thinks ‘outside the box’; and advises and formulates well-considered financial strategies. She understands that hard work and sacrifice is personal. A thoughtful sounding board, Kelly respectfully challenges her clients and has the courage to say what needs to be said when choices are at odds with stated goals.
Kelly carefully considers the value of, and relationships between four key aspects of her clients lives: business, superannuation, investments and the family home. She develops strategies for profitability and growth, business and personal risk mitigation, wealth extraction and succession. Developed in collaboration with her business partner, Grant Titman, this approach is known as the q4 framework.
A Director of q4 financial, Kelly brings empathy, strength and commitment to her leadership role. She supports and pays close attention to the personal and professional development of her team, genuinely encouraging them to be the best they can be.
Kelly grew up in Queensland regional towns including Chinchilla, St George, Toowoomba, Warwick, Gayndah, Clermont, Biloela and Rockhampton, before moving to live and study in Brisbane. The daughter of a bank manager who transferred regularly, change and adapting to new circumstances was the norm, and no doubt fostered resilience. A high achiever from an early age, among Kelly’s accolades are Junior Dux at Biloela SHS and a raft of water skiing titles that culminated in winning the Over 21s Queensland State Title for Slalom in 2013.
Committed to good health and fitness, each week Kelly cycles 100kms (occasionally cracking 200kms) and attends multiple PT sessions. She doesn’t consider herself a runner, but even so set a personal goal for the 2016 Bridge to Brisbane 10km run and ‘smashed it’ by finishing in less than an hour. Following in her footsteps, Kelly’s son Cooper may well be Australia’s next spin bowler while daughter Emily is a budding Nadia Comaneci. Kelly values family and is grateful for what she learned from her father’s care and consideration for his staff and clients, and from her mother’s unwavering silent strength. Kelly accepted her husband’s marriage proposal aloft in a hot air balloon over Brisbane’s XXXX Brewery; and as inexplicable and as it is endearing, she is petrified of green tree frogs.
